Canned Heat were one of the hardest living and hardest working bands
of the late sixties and seventies. Led by the inimitable Bob ‘The Bear’ Hite, a
huge man with a personality to match, their formidable performances established
them as one of the greatest white blues bands of all time.
This set from
the 1973 Montreux Jazz Festival, their only appearance at the esteemed festival, captures them
at their peak, and features a guest appearance from the engaging Clarence ‘Gatemouth’ Brown
on four tracks.
Includes spirited renditions of two of their best known numbers, ’On The Road Again’ and ’Let’s Work Together’, and 8 more hard driving songs.
8 page booklet features liner notes by Michael Heatley (John Peel: A Life In Music, Neil Young In His Own Words).
